Here are some last-minute tips:
Response to Literature

*Read the story carefully and quickly. Make some smart annotations.
*Do your best to write four full pages. Write well!
*Write WAY, WAY BELOW the surface of the ocean. Think about the iceberg!!!!
*Discuss what the characters WANT and what stands in their way. (Somebody… Wants… But… So…)
*Discuss what motivates the characters.
*Keep your ideas substantial and DEEP DEEP DEEP!
*Review your index card, the copies I’ve given you, and your copy of the 1-6 scoring guide. AIM FOR A HIGH SCORE!
Reading for Information
*Be sure to choose the best answer on the multiple choice questions. They will be difficult.
*Fill ALL the lines for the short-answer questions. Fill the space!
*Do not waste space by re-stating the question.
*Use details from the article BLENDED with your own background knowledge.
*Review the scoring guide I gave you. AIM FOR A HIGH SCORE!
